Sail Cruising Night Exercises - From £99
This SBT event is aimed at students who have completed the RYA Competent Crew (Sail), RYA Day Skipper (Sail) and Day Skipper Theory Course and are now looking to gain additional experience and add some night hours, before attending future RYA sailing courses.
This is an Intermediate level event, for students who are comfortable on a sailing yacht, either as a RYA Competent Crew member or as a Day Skipper, to undertake daytime passages and are now looking to enhance their night navigation experience or add additional night hours to their logbook.
This a great event for sailing students, who are looking to build additional night hours, but they 'Must hold at least a 'RYA Competent Crew' Certificate.
SBT Sail Cruising Night Exercises Course Running Order - (All timings are approximate)
- 10:00 Course Starts, Introductions, Safety Briefing, etc.
- 12:00 Depart Shamrock Quay (packed lunch required)
- 15:00 Arrive at Cowes Marine (weather dependent)
- 15:30 Collect Dinner/Tea for return journey (Fish & Chips is always a popular choice)
- 16:30 Start Night Exercise at around Sunset
- Leave berth and navigate the Central Solent, entering Southampton Water. Run up Southampton Water via Hamble, view Hamble River(sector lights), Inogon Light, Leading Lights of Power Station Creek, use available buoyage to return to Shamrock Quay Marina
- 20:30-21:00 Arrive on berth at Shamrock Quay
- 21:00-21:30 Wash Up & Debrief on Nights Events
- 22:00 Students Depart
