Course Cancellation Summary

1. Cancellation or date change of a course for any reason, with 28 days or more notice from the course start date will receive a refund of course fees, less the admin fee detailed below.

(We have not incurred any expenses other than office administrator and bank card fees)

 

2. Cancellation or date change of a course for any reason, with 14 days to 27 days from the course start date will  receive a 50%  refund or a 70% discount code to use on the website to put towards another course, at a later date. 

(At this point we have to pay for all of the resources needed to teach the course including boats & instructors)

 

3. Cancellation or date change of a course for any reason, with less than 14 days notice from the course date, will not receive a refund.  We will try and re-sell the booking to recover some funds for the client.  We will require email confirmation from the client that booked the course initially, who wishes us to try to re-sell the place for them. 

(We have already paid out for the resources needed to teach the course but do not have time for a re-sale to occur)

 

4. All course date changes & cancellations incur a flat rate administration fee of £35 per place booked.  This fee is automatically charged to the payment method used for the initial booking or will be deducted from the payment before refund occurs.

 

5. Specialist courses/events, such as RYA Yachtmaster Theory, ANY Yachtmaster Prep courses, 3, 5 and 7 Day Milebuilders, Cowes Week, Cross Channel Sailing and Racing are not eligible for the 14 day change of date offer as detailed in parts 2 & 3 above.  Part 1 above still applies.

 

 

If for any reason a booking is cancelled by Solent Boat Training, for reasons that are outside of our control and can no longer be fulfilled by or on behalf of Solent Boat Training, as per the original booking, a refund of the deposit and any balance paid at that point.  Solent Boat Training will Not be responsible for any other costs incurred, including but not limited to, accommodation, travel or transportation, if a booking is cancelled.  We will endeavour to contact and inform students/clients as soon as possible, should a booked/scheduled course or event will not take place.

 

 

Solent Boat Training are Not responsible for "Bad Weather Safety Concerns" (bad weather that could pose a safety risk to any persons on a booked course/event) or "Acts of God" (for any course/event that is not the fault of any individual) that result in a booking being cancelled.  As a gesture of goodwill, Solent Boat Training will try to rearrange any booking affected in full or part.  However additional fees will be due before the booking can go ahead.  These costs will be kept to a minimum, for example boat charter costs and/or instructor fees.

Please note that courses running in colder and out of season months of the year, are already heavily discounted to reflect poorer weather and lighting conditions.  Insurance against weather cancellation is highly recommended.
