Had an excellent weekend with Andrew on the Powerboat course and looking forward to hiring a rib on holiday in Croatia this year. Just the right amount of time in the classroom, max 2 hours each day, and then most of the day learning practical skills around safety, motoring in various ways, ‘man over board’, planning at speed, navigation and also going through a lock. Highly recommend it if you want to hire a speedboat or rib anywhere around the world.

Have now done Comp crew and Powerboat level two at this centre, they’re a great company to work with! Instructors are relaxed and really knowledgeable, great communication from the moment you book the course, and a great fleet of training boats. Wouldn’t use anyone else now .

New to the boating world so I did the Helmsman course. Great way to get an insight and learn the basics. Highly recommend the team at Solent boat training. Very welcoming and a good location.

We did our Powerboat Level 2 at Solent Boat Training Southampton with our instructor Bryan Pummell. Bryan was so patient, informative and ensured we understood everything. Bryan gave us the confidence to handle the boat. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Bryan, he was fantastic and we would love to take on future training opportunities with him. Thank you Bryan! We cannot recommend you and the training enough.

Did RYA Powerboat 2 with these guys and had a fantastic time. Matt really knew how to make it enjoyable but also make sure we were learning a lot - he was friendly, clearly incredibly knowledgeable, and was extremely helpful answering any questions we had throughout the course. If you're unsure where to go to do your boat training, look no further than this place!

An absolutely fantastic PB2 course, learnt a huge amount. The delivery was so well executed, we were told what will be learning each day, The focus definitely was on practical elements, which is how I learn, however the tuition in the classroom was also spot on. We were eased into handling a powerboat at slow speeds on day 1, and constant advice and support was always given. On day two, we moved to higher speeds, travelled further distances and taught planing as well. We even went through a lock and refueled. I’ve spent a lot of time on the water in a sailing yacht over the years, however this was very different and I learned a huge amount. I honestly could not give one negative. Just completed my day skipper course with my wife competing her competent crew at the same time. We both really enjoyed the course and our time on board Ecos. Our instructor Mike was fantastic and very knowledgeable. This is our second course with SBT and both have been really good with good communication and instructors. The whole experience has been confidence boosting and I am looking forward to doing more training with them soon.
