Great 5-day Competent Crew course with a clear structure and steady progression throughout the week. I started with very little experience and left feeling confident with the basics. Bella our instructor was excellent, calm, clear, and very supportive. Explained things in a way that made sense and built confidence quickly. A really enjoyable and worthwhile experience. I’d definitely recommend it.

Just finished my Competent Crew sailing course and have had an absolutely fantastic week. We had Bella who couldn’t have been more helpful in how she taught, adapting her style to suit each of the 4 of us who had from zero upwards experience. Thank you.

Just completed the PB2 at Solent Boat Training. The course was excellent, all equipment was provided and really good quality. The boat was epic and I really felt as though we had the best instructor in Bryan. He was a lovely guy, exceptionally competent and gave us all the time we needed to practice on the water and in the classroom. My wife felt quite nervous about fast turns and the boat in general, but by the end of his coaching she went faster than me! Highly recommended!

I did a sailing mile builder weekend in April 2026 - weather was great, boat was well suited to the task and maintained to a very high standard and there were 3 other participants, plus skipper. The skipper had a clear plan for the weekend, was very personable, and knowledgeable. We covered 54 NM over the 2 days, in champagne sailing conditions.

In advance of a flotilla holiday this summer, my teenage daughter and I did a competent crew course last week with Bella as instructor. Bella was awesome - we learnt so much and really enjoyed the structure of two competent crew learning alongside two day skippers on the boat, which meant that we learned more than just the competent crew syllabus. It was a fantastic week - Bella is knowledgeable, authoritative, confident and an excellent teacher. She's also a great laugh too and we had a lot of fun. Highly recommended!

Completed the Powerboat Level 2 with Alex and it was excellent. Packed so much into the course, feeling a lot more confident about boating. Alex was a fantastic teacher and we thoroughly enjoyed our days with him. We picked up a lot more than I expected from a 2 day course and there was a great mix of practical and theory to keep us engaged. Highly recommended

We completed the PowerBoat Level 2 course with Bryan over the last weekend, the course was brilliantly organised, well structured and hugely enjoyable. Bryan has an excellent ability to push his students beyond their comfort zone, yet make them feel confident and supported throughout. He is incredibly knowledgeable, we learnt so much in two days and left excited to come back again for the next level training. Overall a fantastic experience, a very professional training centre and highly recommended.

I had a great week on board Gemini last week doing a 5-day Competent Crew course. Bella, the instructor, impressed me with her confidence and mastery of the boat. Although young, her knowledge, attitude and teaching skills were really first class. Shame I already booked Day Skipper in Greece otherwise I would have booked with SBT again, but I will come back and do a mile builder or some some of the other available practical courses for sure. I would definitely recommend this training centre and Bella in particular. Also thanks very much to Dom for taking my VHF radio exam on a late Sunday afternoon, and for sharing a few nuggets of knowledge that cannot be found in the online VFH Course. Great experience with SBT all round!!

RYA Motorboat helmsman course. This course was inclusive, great fun, and extremely practical — I loved every part of it. Everyone had the opportunity to take part fully, and nothing felt rushed or exclusive. Adam, the instructor, was open, friendly, and endlessly patient, explaining everything thoroughly and more than once where needed, ensuring all four of us genuinely understood each stage of the course. Despite being a group of four very different people, we quickly became a strong, supportive unit over the two days, and that was largely thanks to Adam’s confidence‑building approach. The encouragement, guidance, and support made a real difference and turned the experience into something truly special. We shared this feedback directly with Adam, but it deserves wider recognition. We would happily go out on the water with Adam at any time and very much hope to do so again in the future.

I did powerboat lvl2 ICC here, I had super fun time and it's all been very professional, safe, on the water, in the classroom and on the administration side as well, we really got taken care of in all 3 environments. Even weather been great with sun on the first day then a small wind and a chop on the second, I think this course was as perfect as it can be!
