Handling a Vessel safely and confidently are fundamental skills that take time to practice, refine and require refreshing regularly.  Having the confidence to operate your boat in a variety of wind, tide and sea conditions, can only be gained with time, experience and good professional advice.

Solent Boat Training offer a variety of boat handling and experience building events, that will not only assist you in gaining the skills, but will also allow you to gain further experience and confidence.  This in turn will improve not just your enjoyment of boating, but also that of your friends, family and crew members alike.

Whether you are new to a particular discipline, Sailing, Powerboating or Motor Cruising or even a seasoned Skipper, any additional time spent practicing will prove invaluable, especially when the conditions are less than favourable.  At Solent Boat Training, we offer everything from "Marina Skills" for Sail, Power and Motor Cruisers, to help maintain and improve your slow-speed control, using techniques to over the effects of wind and tide, maintaining the "Slow Is Pro" mindset.

During "Sail Trim and Manoeuvres" day, our Sailing instructors can offer you guidance on a variety of sailing techniques, such as safe and effective, tacking, jibing, how to approach, pick up and leaving of mooring  buoys under sail.  Conduct man-overboard drills effectively, under sail and how to effectively reef sails as required.

And for those who wish to practice some navigation and handling at planing speed, then we offer that also.
