Who Is This Course For? For those wishing to complete the RYA Competent Crew Course, having previously completed the RYA Start Yachting Course. You will gain knowledge of sea terms and parts of a boat, rigging and sails, sail handling, ropework, fire precautions and how to fight a fire, personal safety equipment, man overboard drills, use of emergency equipment, meteorology, seasickness, Helmsmanship, general duties, manners and customs, rules of the road.

The RYA Competent Crew Sail Cruising Course is one of the most popular sailing course in the UK. For those who have already completed the RYA Start Yachting Course, the RYA Competent Crew Completion course teaches students the remaining elements covered during the RYA Competent Crew course.
Running over 3 days, it brings students with the knowledge and experience they gained over the 2 Day Start Yachting course, up to the level of Competent Crew. This will ensure they can be an asset to and assist a Skipper, as a helpful and useful member of the yachts crew. We run courses during the week and at weekends.
If you have not successfully completed the Start Yachting Course, then consider the 5 Day RYA Competent Crew Course.
