Bridging the Skills Gap

Not sure how to fill the Skills Gap or improve your current Skill Set.

Solent Boat Training offers a variety of training options.

Whether catering to absolute novices taking their first steps on a RIB or seasoned boat owners refreshing their navigation skills, Solent Boat Training continues to emphasize safety, awareness, and practical confidence on the busy waters of the Solent.

"Without training, you’re often just not aware of what you don't know," says Sam Noble, Co-owner of Solent Boat Training. "Our goal isn't just to hand out certificates - it's to make skippers aware of potential hazards, master close-quarters handling, and feel completely in control at sea."

Operating out of Southampton, Solent Boat Training features six modern classrooms and a dedicated engine workshop directly on the marina. To make training accessible for students traveling from across the UK and Europe, free on-site accommodation is included with selected multi-day practical sailing courses.

With the Solent recognized as one of the world's most dynamic and challenging waterways, characterized by complex tides, heavy commercial traffic, and varied sea states, training in these waters gives students the skills to skipper anywhere in the world.

Whether it is Sailing, Powerboating or Motor Cruising, there are plenty of opportunities available.

Solent Boat Training offer a number of options, from Powerboat Refresher Days, Day Sailing or multiple Experience & Mileage Building Events on there own vessels.  Or we can provide bespoke training, which can be conducted on your own vessel.  Familiarising you with your own vessel's systems, is a great way of gaining more confidence at apace that suits you.

Maybe you would like to introduce someone else to boating, then why not join them and share the experience?

For course schedules, booking inquiries, or more information on Solent Boat Training’s fleet, visit solentboattraining.co.uk or contact their training team in Southampton.

Many of our events can be found on our “Live Course Calendar”.  However, if you are looking at something a little more bespoke or private, we can arrange that also.

To discuss your options, get in touch via our “Contact Us” page, and we will be happy to advise.
