Knowing How to Tie Knots is a Great Skill
"Aah Knots!!" Love them or Loath them, you will still need them.
We've all heard the phrase, "If you Can't Tie Knots, Tie Lots".
Lots of what? Big handfuls of tangled ropes or lines, serve no purpose, but are more likely to become a problem for both Skipper & Crew.
Are they really that hard to master or are we just not spending enough time practicing?
One of the best pieces of advise given to a Skipper is: "If you don't like knots, teach your crew quickly and let them become the knot masters". Let's face it, if you, as the Skipper, are tying knots and preparing fenders, who is in control of the vessel?
Solent Boat Training have produced a "Knot Series" on our "YouTube Channel" to help you through. Animations are generally a far easier way to learn than static, two dimensional pictures. You can freeze frame, rewind, fast forward and follow at your own pace.
